By the way, today is 人日, so happy birthday everyone! :)
Currently, I'll estimate myself like around 2/3s along the arrow. I still access sites like Gumtree and Carousell, and see any deals that I can make there. However, I will be discerning in my choices, and not choose the 'bad' deals, like dirt cheap deals. But on the other hand, I still go and meet up with the seller alone. Although I do not have any incidents so far, but it's better safe than sorry, so I think I will call a friend along next time. I also distance myself away from dubious sites, which might contain malicious content. I also do not share my personal information easily, unless I know the person is trustworthy. When I get calls from numbers that I am not familiar with, I tend to just reject the call, instead of answering it. When I am approached by some random stranger online, I usually just ignore them. If they continue to harass me, I will immediately block the person. Besides, I do not have accounts on a lot of social media, thus reducing the chances of this type of incidents happening.
ReplyDeleteNormally, I will ignore all the online advertisements and pop outs since my social media account had been hacked once due to online advertisements a few years ago. This allows me to identify those unaccredited sites well and keep away from them. This taught me a lesson that we should always stay alert when we are online. I think I can protect myself from unaccredited sites and unknown online contacts by staying alert and always judge clearly that whether something or someone online is trust worthy or not. I can also help others by telling my personal experiences to my friends and also go online and know more about real life scam examples so that we can always stay alert and create a safe online environment together.
ReplyDeleteI can avoid and ignore unaccredited sites and not be enticed by it. I can block unknown online contacts who approach me and try to befriend me. I would immediately exit dubious sites whenever i come across them and not click on any links or URLs that seem unusual or unfamiliar to me. I can make a difference for others and become an ambassador for building a safe and harmonious online environment by warning others of sites that are unaccredited and warn others of chain links or messages that they should not click. I can also advice my friends on what to do when approached by a online stranger by telling him/her to ignore or block these online strangers and cut off all contact with the stranger.
ReplyDeletei will normally ignore the pop up advertisements or strangers who try to contact me. i believe the best thing to do to not get into online danger is to avoid it when it first starts to appear.
ReplyDeletei believe that in order to build a safe online environment, i should firstly not send any hatred messages or virus messages to anyone. i think this is the most basic thing i can do. not only that, i will keep safe of my own online password and be able to judge what is the right and wrong things to do online, so that no hacker and scammer will invade my personal computer and phone. i will too alert my friend to not click into any random advertisement if i know my friend receives one.
When coming across unaccredited sites or approached by unknown online contacts, I would ignore it and not click on it. To make a difference for others and become an ambassador for building a safe harmonious online environment, I will not click on websites that contains virus as this might allow the virus to hack into the device and send the link to those contacts in that same device through means such as email.
ReplyDeleteOn the scale, I think I am on the extreme right whereby I identify and protect myself from dubious scale. When coming across unaccredited sites, I would immediately exit the web page and when approached by unknown online contacts, I would not continue the conversation with that person and block the person. I can make a difference for others by alerting others about the unknown online contacts so that they could be wary of those people as well. This would then prevent lesser people falling to cyber scams.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I do not usually click on pop-up advertisement or talk to random strangers online.
ReplyDeleteWhen visiting any online websites, we should be wary of what kind of advertisements there are on the site and not click on those that appear to be spams. By clicking on them, our personal details might be taken away from us and sooner or later, our identity might be stolen. Thus we should refrain from exposing too much of our own personal details online as hackers might hack our accounts and know everything about us. Talking to random people online is dangerous and we should not meet up with people that we do not know in real life. Never expose our own personal information to strangers if they ask as we will never know what they will try to do with that information. Even when talking to friends online, if they suddenly don't sound like themselves and ask for your personal information, do not give them as they might be hacked by other people.
I think I am more towards the side that is able to discern well and am in contact with trustworthy people because the people usually chat with online like via whatsapp are people that I know.I would like to remain at this level but at the same time be careful of scammers and should not trust people online too easily.I think one of the most important things I can do to protect myself is not to give away any information especially personal information online so that unknown people would not use my information for the wrong things. This way,I can greatly reduce the possibility of being scammed online. In order to build a safe and harmonious online environment,I can set a good example by not posting my personal information online and tell others not to do so as well.I can also tell my friends to be cautious as no one knows if the person one is chatting with online has a hidden identity and motive in doing so.
ReplyDeleteI feel that I wouldn't be very prone for cyber scams as I exercise discretionary participation. Online platforms and activities. However, I feel that I just not let my guard down when i am online, and have better ability to discern if what I may chance upon online is safe and trustable. If I am approached by unknown online contacts, I will ensure that I do not leak out confidential information about myself and ensure that I would not be a victim to scams. With the Internet technology rapidly improving, there are still many loopholes in the use of the Internet and some might use it as a platform for incorrect personal gains. Hence, i would encourage my peers to be cautious when they're online so that they would not be preys of cyber scams either.
ReplyDeleteI think that I am able to protect myself online.
ReplyDeleteI can protect myself by not showing my own profile to the strangers online, making all the information I put online visible only to trustable people, checking carefully when strangers send me friend requests, not meeting online "friends" or at least inform parents or friends.
I will suggest others to keep their privacy private, and will help them analyse whether their "friends" are trustable.
I can protect myself by not visiting these sites again and clear traces and data from the computer and back away from unknown online contacts unless there is a way to recognize him or her if it happens to be a friend. Or at the very least know his or her intention before making the decision to back away or not.
ReplyDeleteI can do so by spreading this messages to friends and people that i know in order to ensure our own safety and prevent ourselves from being the ones that commit these acts.
i believe that i can protect myself from online scams. Usually i will ignore pop up ads and unknowns links that some random stranger has sent to me. If i accidentally visited an unaccredited site, i will close it immediately. Also, if a stranger approaches me, i will first check the person's account to see if i know him in real life, then respond accordingly or just ignore him.
ReplyDeleteI believe that i can help create a peaceful online environment by not posting harmful content/virus links on social media. i can also help to ensure safety by advising others to keep private information private and be cautious of everything posted online.

We can protect ourselves from unaccredited sites by identifying and not clicking on suspicious links. Usually their url links does not make sense and just a bunch of letters and numbers. Hence, we will avoid downloading virus online unknowingly. When approached by unknown online sites, we should not give them personal information and best to ignore them. We might not kno what they are up to and it is always good to be safe than sorry as we have nothing to lose without them. We should keep a lookout for our friends and families online from online risks together and inform them should we come across suspicious activities so that the online community will be a safe platform for us and others.
ReplyDeleteI think i am able to protect myself online. I do not usually click on unknown links or advertisements and even if i do so, i will most probably close the page immediately. Also, when i receive messages or emails from strangers, i will ignore them and so that i will not fall into the traps of scammers. Most importantly, i think we should always be careful of what we share on the internet. As the internet is a platform accessible by everyone around the world, we should never share our personal information online as anyone could take the information and misuse them.
ReplyDeleteWhen coming across unaccredited websites, I will read and check the weblink. If it looks valid, I will search online (i.e. Google) to see if the link is appropriate or not. I will be extra careful when I come across any unaccredited sites as it is not very trustworthy. When approached by unknown online contacts, I will either ignore it or be extra cautious when communicating with the online contact to avoid any leakage of my details.
ReplyDeleteI can make a difference by warning others about the negative effects of internet. Also, if I come across any cyber bullying incident, I will try to stop it from happening in order to build a safe and harmonious online environment.
Currently I am able to identify dubious sites such as weird links received in my email and I will not open them because it may contain inappropriate content or even viruses. There is not much personal information uploaded on my social media websites which protects myself from attacks by strangers. I hope that in a month's time I can get better at identifying dubious sites and avoid contact with strangers or dangerous contacts. We do not know who they are and what they might do to us. Phishing websites can have access to our personal information so I avoid giving out my personal information easily. When approached by unknown online contacts, I will ignore them and not talk to them, since we are unclear of their motives. They could be scammers or dangerous people waiting to prey on us.
ReplyDeleteCurrently, i can identify sites that are not very safe most of the time and i do not talk to strangers online. I private my accounts so as to minimise the chances of strangers viewing my profile and the things i post online so that my privacy will not be invaded. We can protect ourselves by installing antivirus softwares so as to minimise the impacts that virus websites will bring to us when we accidentally come across an unaccredited site. Also, i close the site immediately once i realise that there is something wrong with it. When approached by unknown online contacts, i would not strike up a conversation with them. If they continue to pester me, i will block and report the person. I can play my part by protecting my own personal informations online and reminding others to do the same too.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I do not click on links or advertisements, no matter what the link is for, simply because I am usually not interested in these advertisements and also because I do not trust them. However, I usually do not mind visiting random websites to, for example, watch videos or download and E-book. I also do not befriend random people online, and block people who try to post weird comments on my social media accounts.
ReplyDeleteWhen approached by a random person online, I feel that we should first ignore the person if we feel that they are up to no good. If they continue to harass you, we should block and report the user. We should not engage conversations with people who seem suspicious, as we might fall prey to sexual extortions.
When coming across unaccredited sites and approached by unknown online contacts, one can try to avoid them. They could immediately close the site and ignore the person contacting them. This would prevent unnecessary vital information from leaking to the unwanted.
ReplyDeleteAdvise fellow Internet users to avoid certain websites that you think that are unsafe and advise them to avoid talking with strangers online. Encourage them to reduce the number of information they input online.
I can protect myself by closing the unaccredited websites when I come across them. When approached by unknown online contacts, I can ignore them. Advertisement popups are common nowadays when surfing the net. To avoid falling for these scams, I can close these advertisements immediately whenever I encounter them. If I know of friends who are planning to meet the person that she met online, I will tell her the dangers of doing so so that she will not become of a victim. These scams are always present online and to prevent ourselves from becoming scammed, we should constantly remind ourselves of the dangers present online.
