What we did during CCE lesson
We did two activities in total. The first one was the "I had
never...." game. At the beginning, everyone had 10 fingers pointing
outwards, indicating that everyone had 10 "lives". The objective of
the game is to let everyone except yourself bend their fingers inwards, and the
only way to do so is to give a statement such that the other players have done
what you never did before in the form of "I have never...". For the
second activity, from the first speaker onward, each person held a part of a
ball of string and said 3 areas in which they already/wish to contribute in
before passing the string to the next person until the last person had
finished. At the end of the activity, the ball of string formed a web within
the circle of students and teachers, which resembles the connection within a
community.
How do the activities link to a community in real life?
For the first activity, until the end of one round, most of the players have all their fingers bent inwards. In this game, each player represents a member of the community. When all the players have their fingers bent inwards, this shows that even though everyone come from a different background and have different personalities, we still have similarities and we can come together as a community to work towards a common goal. During the second activity, there were problems faced when passing the ball of string around (eg. cannot reach, string not long enough), but in the end, we solved the problems and ended up succeeding in forming the complete web. This shows that when each and every member of the community contribute their part while working together and cooperating with each other well, we can achieve great things as a community.

Through this cce lesson, i learnt that although people have gone through many different experiences, we can still come together as one community and help out one another. Also, we had to shift around and communicate with each other to tighten the string so that it was long enough for everyone, and through this i learnt that everyone in the community plays a part and they have to co-operate and communicate in order to maintain a conducive community for everyone to live in.
ReplyDeleteSome things I learnt from this CCE lesson is that my various friends have contribute through various ways to the society, to the class and to the school. Even though they might not necessarily talk about it all the time, I still think that it is very commendable that they would think about different ways to give back to the society. After benefiting from the community, it is only necessary that we give back so as to show our appreciation for what we have received.
ReplyDeleteIn a community, everyone makes a part of it. In order for the community to be able to solve problems and overcome challenges together, everyone needs to cooperate and contribute. Everyone is important in the contribution of building and enhancing a community. Everyone has the potential to do something for the community and no matter how small or how trivial it seems, it makes a difference. From doing a simplest action like picking up rubbish to organising events for the community, it all makes a difference and an impact to the people around us. I hope i can be able to contribute to the community by organising events, helping the elderly, and teaching children.

ReplyDeleteThrough today's CCE lesson, I have a better understanding of what community should be like. Everyone has an important role to play and it is essential that everyone contribute to the community and work together. Three ways that I can contribute to the society is that i can actively participate in the organisation of the events by the community centre, take part in recycling projects to help to make our living environment clean and suitable for living for the community. Lastly, help those who are in need such as tutoring kids and helping out elderly who are in need.
ReplyDeleteCommunity is a group of very different people living together or interacting with each other in a particular place. Various forms of communities involve school, the neighbourhood. Three ways that I can contribute to the community is by organising activities for my CCA and be an active member of the exco in my cca. Also, i can contribute to the neighbourhood by participating in events organised by the community such as recycling events. Lastly, I can contribute to my family by helping out in the housework. A community needs to work together and contribute to make it a better place for them and everyone else.
ReplyDeleteDue to the apparent lack of rafiah, I learnt something about the community. Firstly. Everybody had to work together to tighten the rafiah at some places in order for the rafiah to be passed on to the next person. Also, only through a common interest were we able to communicate together effectively. The common interest that we all have is being in the same class, striving together to do our very best, be it academic or non-acadamic.
ReplyDeleteOther ways that I could contribute is to offer my service to my nearby community centre, be it organizing events or simply be a volunteer to help facilitate the event flow. I can also help my parents in housework and/or help tutor my younger sister. I can also help to take care of my CCA more often.
Sorry for the late reply, this s been left in my phone for ages and I just did not remember to post it.
I think that through this activity, I realized that all of us can contribute to our societies in different ways even though we have different skills and beliefs
ReplyDeleteThere are many ways to contribute to our community, sometimes by volunteering or even by passively participating
In today's CCE lesson, I learned that in a community, communication is very important. Neighbours and everyone living in the community have to work together to achieve a common goal. Just like in the CCE lesson today, even though the string provided was not sufficient to pass around, but we still cooperate and communicated with one another to tightened the string so that there will be more strings to pass around. At the same time, in a neighbourhood, I feel that helping out and looking out for one another is very important. We should all be friendly towards one another and help out each other when needed. I hope to be able to continue to maintain the good relations with the neighbours. At the same time, I hope to be able to organise more events for my cca and I think I can contribute to the world by being environmental friendly :)
ReplyDeleteEverybody is part of a community. By being a member of my community, I hope to contribute by maintaining good relations with my neighbors. This can be achieved by waving to them when I see them around and frequently chatting with them so that I know what is going on in the community. I would also like to help out by volunteering in the VIAs organized by my community club.
ReplyDeleteCommunity includes all different kinds of people and this particular group of people have to accept one another's differences in order to work together. Everyone is special and unique with different strengths and weaknesses and we need to put our strengths together and cover each others' weaknesses to achieve something.
ReplyDeleteI feel that everyone has a part to play in the community. We are all able to do little things to help the community. For instance,we can make the effort to know more about our neighbours and help them when they need it.This way,the area we live in would be happier and more friendly as well. Also,we could help to lighten the burden of our parents by helping to do some housework so that they will not be so tired.
ReplyDeleteThrough these activities in the cce lesson, i have learned more about communities. In a community, there will be people with different backgrounds and pasts. Even though this is so, everyone have to work together and play their part to contribute to the community. During the web game, everyone shared how they have helped the community or how they would like to help the community. Personally, I feel that i have not done much to contribute to my community. I can are to participate in different events organised by the community centre. This way, I will be able to contribute to my community.
ReplyDeleteFrom this activity, I have learned that everyone's effort counts in a community. Even though everyone has their own weaknesses and strengths, we can still contributed to our community in one way or another. Every little thing makes a difference to our community, this we should all make the effort.
ReplyDeleteFor the first activity, we played the "I've never..." game. From the game, it aided us to know each other more, for instance their character and their past experiences. This also provides us more interesting facts about themselves. For the second activity, we did the rapweb. Originally, the string wasn't long enough for all of us to hold onto, so we had to work together to solve the problem by tightening our part of the string. Also, if one person lets go of the string, the whole structure will be ruined. Thus in order to complete this, everyone has to play a part. Ways I contribute: I contribute to my family by taking care of Ginger, my pet cat. And replying to my family whatsapp group chat.I contribute to the school by organising CCA activitie, participating in SYF and planning events for school
ReplyDeleteI think community is a group of people who leads a common life and it includes class, school, neighbourhood etc. Everyone comes from a different background and have different strengths and weaknesses. It is important that we accept each and everyone in our community as all of them make a part of it. Everyone in the community has to work together, and contribute in different ways in order to achieve a common goal. I believe i have done my part as a member of the community as i have definitely contributed to the community in someways. Even though some of them might be as simple as not littering, i think i have done my little part in keeping the environment clean. However, i believe that i certainly have the ability to do more for the community and make a larger difference.
ReplyDeleteCommunity is a group of people coming together, accepting one another's differences. From the game, not only did we manage to learn more about our classmates, we also manage to understand the idea of community. It involves many different people from different backgrounds. Though their differences, they work together as a team to achieve a common goal. For instance, one can volunteer at the Community Centre to help improve their area.
ReplyDeleteWe were linked together during the game and we had to share our goals
ReplyDeleteThrough this game, I learn that all of us have to play an important role in contributing to the community, whether globally or just in our small neighbourhoods. Just like we are all linked together during the game, all of us must work together to reach a common goal. I would like to contribute to the community by being more participative in VIAs
